Robin has practiced in the area of corporate and commercial law since 1994. He provides guidance and service at all the various stages of the life cycle of a business: start up, expansion, reorganization and, ultimately, family succession, dissolution or sale. Along the way, he provides assistance with the myriad of legal and operational matters facing businesses today, including drafting commercial agreements, advising on regulatory issues, implementing financings, and reviewing and negotiating leases.

Depending on the circumstances, Robin will use a team approach to meet the needs of the firm’s business clients: whether it is using Ian Johncox’s expertise in employment and litigation matters or Patrick Bennett to acquire real estate or advise on wills and estates matters for the principals, working with the client’s accounting and tax advisors, or even occasionally using lawyers who are specialists in specific fields. His philosophy is that a client of the firm is a client in the broadest sense and that, to the extent we can, we should look after all their needs or ensure that they are being met.

Robin is also a Registered Canadian Trademark Agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). He advises on the viability of registering trademarks, drafts and files trademark applications, and prepares legal arguments for any objections received from the Registrar of Trademarks. He also represents clients who require assistance with the registration of copyright with CIPO.

Robin is the firm’s representative on the Brooklin Downtown Business Association (BDBA), and he resides as Chair of the BDBA’s Business Improvement Area Committee. In addition, Robin is a member of the Town of Whitby’s Brooklin Downtown Development Steering Committee, which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan for Brooklin. He is also a current member and past Director and Officer of the Writers' Circle of Durham Region and member of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce.

Robin resides in Brooklin with his wife of eighteen years and their three children.
